Connect and start listening
Your first connection, from opening AirSound to hearing music on a speaker.
Before you start
Use an Android phone running Android 10 or later. Connect it and an already configured receiver to the same home Wi-Fi network. A receiver is the speaker, TV or network player that will play the sound. Turn it on and enable its supported network-audio feature.
- Open AirSound. On first launch, read the welcome guide and choose Allow discovery to find nearby devices. You can revisit it in Settings → Welcome & permissions guide.
- In Receivers, enable Find receivers automatically, or tap Scan again. Wait for your receiver’s name.
- Tap the receiver row. If asked, enter its speaker-access password or pairing code.
- Approve Android audio access. Allow notifications for the background controls. Optional Track details access can be accepted or skipped.
- Approve Android’s screen-sharing prompt for app-audio capture. If Android offers a choice, select Entire screen for this workflow, then use its confirmation button.
- Wait for the receiver’s status to update. Open a music app that permits capture, start playback, then adjust speaker volume on the receiver row.
The receiver row shows connection progress, then its connected or streaming status. Confirm that you can actually hear music: a connected label or moving input meter alone is not proof of sound from the speaker.
Keep AirSound in the same Android user profile as the music app. AirSound sends eligible audio; it does not transmit screen images or save audio recordings in this workflow.
