General audio settings
What each source, control and background option actually changes.
| Setting | Meaning and when to use it |
|---|---|
| Audio source: App audio | Captures eligible internal app playback with Android screen-sharing consent. Use this for music from other apps. Stop sharing before changing sources. |
| Audio source: Microphone | Captures voice and nearby room sound. It is not internal app audio and is not a workaround for a source app’s capture restriction. |
| Ask for entire screen | On Android 14+, requests the whole-display consent option. AirSound still sends audio rather than screen images. |
| Pause music on disconnect | Attempts to pause a controllable media session. Requires optional Track details access; not every app accepts the action. |
| Disable receiver volume sliders | Hides/disables AirSound’s receiver-volume adjustments. Use the receiver’s own controls instead. |
| Notification volume buttons | Adds receiver-volume actions where supported. Adjust volume once in Receivers first; buttons use 10% steps. |
| Speak stream status | Announces connection changes when a screen reader is active. |
| Dark theme | Changes AirSound’s appearance; no effect on audio capture or transport. |
| Save / Send automatic error reports | Optional technical diagnostics. The label depends on whether an HTTPS reporting endpoint is configured. Local-only builds keep reports on the phone. No captured audio, passwords, track names or receiver addresses are included. |
| View error reports / Delete reports | Shows stored technical reports or deletes the local history. |
| Disconnect after silence | Choose Never, 30 seconds, 1 minute or 5 minutes. Silence in captured audio can trigger disconnect even when a source app appears to be playing but blocks capture. |
Use Done to leave the dialog. Some choices apply immediately; source, format and timing changes need a new connection or sharing session.
Reference app capture; layout and edition labels can differ.
