Receiver types and their options
Choose connection types and formats that your receiver supports.
Open Settings → Receiver types for defaults and enable switches. For supported per-device choices, use the receiver row’s settings icon. Format changes apply on reconnect. Switching a type off can disconnect an active receiver of that type.
| Type | Implemented options and limits |
|---|---|
| AirPlay | Enable AirPlay; Prefer AirPlay 2; default delay. Per receiver: delay, password, forget credentials, connection details. AirPlay 2 preference is not a multiroom switch. |
| AriaCast | Enable switch; stereo PCM format is negotiated automatically. Volume appears only when advertised by the receiver. |
| DLNA / UPnP | Enable switch; WAV or LPCM. Needs a receiver with a usable AVTransport route and the selected format. Volume requires RenderingControl. |
| HEOS / Sonos | Enable switch; WAV or LPCM through compatible UPnP endpoints. Proprietary grouping and MP3 output are not implemented. |
| Google Cast | Enable switch; live WAV through the standard Cast receiver; optional Disconnect on mute. Requires Google Play services on the phone. |
| Fire TV | Enable switch; live WAV over a legacy Fling/Whisperlink route. Use the TV remote for volume. Compatibility depends on model and firmware. |
| Samsung Multiroom | Enable switch; WAV over an advertised MSF audio service. This is not support for every Samsung TV or speaker. |
| HTTP / HLS | Enable switch; live WAV or AAC HLS; optional port. See the local-stream-link guide. |
An enabled switch allows an attempt using that route. It does not install a driver, add a missing receiver service, or certify a model. A device may work through its AirPlay endpoint even if a different proprietary route does not.
