Try the legacy Fire TV connection
Connect through the Fire TV route and check the settings that matter.
Before connecting
This route requires a Fire TV device/firmware that still advertises the legacy Fling/Whisperlink playback service. Being a Fire TV does not by itself mean the service is available.
- Connect the receiver and Android phone to the same reachable Wi-Fi network.
- Open Settings → Receiver types → Fire TV and make sure the type is enabled. WAV is fixed for this route. Use the Fire TV remote for volume.
- Return to Receivers, tap Scan again and select the device’s matching route.
- Approve the Android audio and sharing prompts. Start eligible source music, then confirm sound on the receiver.
- Adjust speaker volume on the receiver row if a slider is available. Disconnect from that same row before changing output.
This is a legacy compatibility path, not universal current Fire TV support. If the firmware no longer offers the required service, changing AirSound’s switch cannot add it. Use a separately supported receiver route if available.
If it appears in discovery but cannot play, that is not proof that a driver is missing. Confirm the receiver’s advertised service, accepted format and firmware with its manufacturer. See Receiver compatibility.
