Edit email templates and restore a shared default
Keep required tags and distinguish reusable library entries from active event overrides.
For: Business notification manager. Open: Notifications → Manage email templates.
Business templates — /app/notifications/templates
- Select the relevant event/recipient pair.
- Select a preconfigured/shared or saved business template, then Edit template.
- Give reusable custom content a name, edit subject/body and use the supported insert-tag controls.
- Preview with fictional data, resolve required-placeholder validation, then Save business template.
- Reload and confirm the selected event/template. Use Reset shared default only when you intend to remove that event's override.
Overrides affect only this business. Missing overrides inherit shared defaults; changed defaults do not overwrite custom overrides. Named library entries and active event overrides are separate: reset does not delete reusable library history. Duplicate names/stale edits/unsupported or missing required tags reject the save.
The protected {{notification_details}} contains generated booking details/reference and secure actions. Use actual offered tags; do not invent a booking_code tag or manually type a reference that would be reused for every customer. Safe rendering escapes authored content; templates are not executable HTML programs. Standard recipient-language coverage is incomplete; business-authored templates are not machine-translated.
Calendar controls in applicable messages offer Google Calendar, Apple-compatible .ics and download actions with text fallback. Importing is not two-way calendar synchronization.
Find and verify your template
On a narrow screen choose Notification event and Open template; wider navigation links select events directly. Back to notifications returns to the event settings. Preview never sends email. Template saved for this business is a persistence result; a rendered preview alone is not.
Keep the protected {{notification_details}} supplied by the editor; it generates appointment/reference/secure action details. Unsupported/missing tags, duplicate names, stale edits or insufficient permissions reject a save. Named reusable template library entries are separate from an event’s active override. Reset shared default removes that override rather than deleting every library item. Authored text is not machine-translated, and recipient-language coverage remains incomplete. Never insert real customer data or fixed private booking links into reusable content.
