Add and publish Staff availability, breaks and time off
Use add-only recurring records, effective bounds and deliberate publication.
For: Business schedule manager · Independent Professional. Open: Schedule & Availability → Staff availability.
Staff schedule editors
Select Staff independently in either editor (stacked on mobile); only permitted profiles are editable. Existing recurring and one-off windows show their publication state. Open Add staff schedule records for:
| Record / field | Meaning / procedure |
|---|---|
| Recurring availability | Choose one or more weekdays, location, local start/end and optional effective bounds; preview then Add recurring. |
| Copy existing hours | Select an existing interval to fill hours/location/bounds; choose destination weekdays. This does not save until Add recurring. |
| Effective from / until | Optional bounds for recurring hours; blank means no lower/upper boundary. End must not precede start. |
| Publish now / Publish / Unpublish | Controls future public eligibility; save/publishing does not cancel existing appointments. |
| One-off availability | A specific dated interval; both date/time endpoints are required. |
| Recurring break | Repeating unavailable portion of a Staff schedule, with its own required weekday/time/bounds. |
| Time off | Dated Staff absence; inspect booked appointments separately. Never assume adding time off cancels them. |
The multi-weekday operation is add-only and atomic: an invalid/conflicting day rejects the whole selection. Existing hours/bookings are not silently replaced. Arbitrary selected-date bulk copy is not yet implemented; use explicit one-off windows when appropriate. Saving a draft recurring window does not make it bookable until published.
Troubleshooting missing or rejected times
Check the correct location/Staff/category, active service and public page, published business and Staff hours, date bounds, lead/horizon, duration/gap, breaks/time off, blocks and existing bookings. A 30-minute start interval is not a 30-minute appointment duration. All dates use the displayed IANA timezone, not an assumed browser timezone. DST gaps/repeated times require careful selection; the application rejects ambiguous local mutation input rather than silently choosing another instant.
Edit existing closing dates
Business users with whole-business management permission can expand Edit closing dates beneath an existing closure, change First closed date, Last closed date and Reason, then save. Dates use the closure location timezone. Reversed dates, overlapping closures and stale records are rejected; reload before retrying. Editing does not cancel existing appointments. There is currently no remove/retire closure control.
October 16 - Schedule ownership
Invited business Staff have read-only availability. An earlier own-schedule grant cannot enable schedule, break, time-off or manual-block changes. Owners and Managers manage business schedules. An independent Launch owner manages the availability of their own one-person workspace. Bookings and customer permissions do not grant schedule-management permissions.
Recurring editor controls
Copy existing hours fills the current form; Enter new hours starts a new interval. Choose Location, Apply to weekdays, Start, End and optional Effective from / Effective until. Inspect the Add hours only preview, choose Publish now if intended and Add recurring. Without publication it remains a draft. One-off availability uses Add one-off; Recurring break uses Add break; dated Time off uses Add time off.
The weekday selection is atomic: a conflict rejects all selected additions. Existing hours/bookings are unchanged. Invited Staff availability is read-only even with older own-schedule labels. Independent Professional controls its own one-person schedule. Publishing availability still needs compatible published business openings, active services and valid rules.
