Create, publish and assign service categories

Group services and assign Staff without rewriting existing bookings.

For: Business · Independent Professional. Open: Services → Manage categories.

Category assignments

Assign Staff to categories for the normal workflow. A category grant covers its eligible current and future services, subject to publication, location and availability. At least one eligible Staff profile and valid schedule are needed to offer a service. Existing partial service assignments are not automatically expanded to the whole category. Revoking/moving assignments affects future offers, not historical booking details.

Create and edit a category

  1. Open Manage categories, enter Category name and Description, then Create category.
  2. Open Edit for a current category; change name/description/Active and Save category.
  3. Choose Publish/Unpublish deliberately. A draft is not public.
  4. Use Assign staff to the category and check eligible active profiles.
  5. Use Archive/Restore for supported visibility changes and reload.

Category assignment is the normal eligibility path; individual services still require compatible locations, publication and schedules. Existing partial legacy service assignments are not automatically expanded. Changing assignments or moving a service affects future offers, not recorded booking snapshots.

Launch permits one unarchived category, including restore paths. Publication can fail for inactive or missing prerequisites, invalid data, stale versions or missing management access. Invited Staff views the catalog rather than editing it. Category colors aid scanning; names and actual publication state remain authoritative.
